What do you do for work, and how has Modafinial (or whichever nootropic) helped/hurt your performance?

I'm a chef by trade and I take 200mg of modafinil with a glass of grapefruit juice. I've only been taking it on days when I wake up feeling exhausted. As far as the focus and concentration, it really hasn't helped at all. The main things with being a chef is an almost unreasonable amount of long hours, manual labour, and multitasking. When I go in the morning, I don't really feel any of those aspects are improved. In fact, there are times when modafinil will hurt you since, there are also times when you can't get a moment to eat lunch, so you might get a dizzy spell. The reason I still take it, is that it REALLY helps with the sleepiness. On days that I would normally feel like shit from lack of sleep, I feel fine. More so than I would with coffee on it's own. In fact apart from the wakefulness, I'm actually very skeptical of the other benefits of modafinil. I know others will disagree, but speaking with others (chefs or otherwise), they all agree that people who claim it makes them feel like the “Limitless” film, are riding on a placebo. Read More
